Beccles and Bungay Journal was launched in 1933 and has been serving the two Waveney Valley towns in North Suffolk as well as the neighboring communities of Loddon and Halesworth (Norfolk, East of England) almost 80 years. Over the decades, it has captured all the proud moments, joys and concerns of the district.
More recently, as population has grown in rural areas of East Anglia (East of England), the journal lead a role in campaigning for health, leisure and recreation for its readers.
The paper also launched the Beccles & Bungay Challenge, bringing its main towns together in friendly rivalry in a series of contests ranging from the Beccles-Bungay boat race to quizzes, darts, Scrabble, beetle drives and football. The journal average circulation is 7445 copies weekly.
