"The Boomerang!" is a consolidation of several newspapers including the Palouse Republic, Garfield Enterprise and Whitman-Latah Record. When the WL Record was purchased in 1981 by J&H Publications, Inc. the company took ownership of several different banners and continued to publish under the banner of Whitman-Latah Record until later in the 80's when the name was changed to "The Boomerang!" which was the name of the current "Boomerang" covers news in Garfield and Palouse, Washington, in Whitman County. The focus of the newspaper is on the good, uplifting news of the two towns and be a voice for the citizens. The city of Palouse lies in the heart of the beautiful Palouse region and is located at the junction of the Palouse River and State Route 27, surrounded by the rolling wheat fields that are signature of this scenic area.
