THE NIPAWIN JOURNAL is a Wednesday paper with a circulation of 3,500. It serves Nipawin and the surrounding communities in northeast Saskatchewan. Agriculture dominates the regional economy, but a proposed diamond mine west of Nipawin may be the industry of the future. Nipawin is also a tourist destination, as it is known throughout Saskatchewan for excellent fishing and a highly rated golf course. Nipawin is located 75 minutes east of Prince Albert.
