SELKIRK JOURNAL publishes every Monday. Circulation is 18,000. The paper covers one urban municipality, the City of Selkirk and four neighbouring rural municipalities. Politics, agriculture are also important issues. Selkirk is home to one of Canada's largest steel companies. 20 minutes north of Winnipeg, Manitoba, this paper covers development issues in indicative of growing rural areas (bedroom communities) as well as crime and sports. Selkirk has a Junior A Hockey team.
