The Barrie Examiner was first established in 1864 as a weekly newspaper, and became a daily publication in 1958. The newspaper serves the city of Barrie and surrounding areas. Situated just north of Toronto in Simcoe County, Barrie is one of the fastest growing cities in the country with a population of over 100,000. The Barrie Examiner publishes Monday to Saturday with a paid circulation of over 11,000.
