The Abbotsford/Mission Times began publishing in 1984 as the Teletimes in Abbotsford and Chilliwack. In 1985 the format of the publication was changed to a tabloid and two editions -- an upper Valley and central Valley -- were published under the Valley Times nameplate. The rapid growth of the Abbotsford-Clearbrook Times through 1989 and 1990 allowed the establishment of a second issue in the fall of 1991. The Times now provided twice-weekly full-market coverage in Abbotsford and Mission. In August 1995 the publication dates of the Times were changed to Tuesday and Friday to better meet the needs of advertisers and keep our readers at the leading edge of local news.
