The CRIMNL file provides a collection of statewide and county criminalbackground information, including traffic violations, collected from a variety of state and county criminal repositories, courts, state departments of corrections and other agencies. Record content will vary from State to State.
The CRIMNL file includes statewide criminal history records from nearly 70% ofthe US population. The data from 81 governmental agencies are incorporated into the file. Below are the States providing records and a brief overview.
1) Alaska Courts: This database contains current and historical felony and misdemeanor information on individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the Alaska Court system. Quarterly updates of the most current data available are provided. These records date back at least seven years.
2) Arizona Courts: This database contains current and historical conviction and arrest information on individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the Arizona Court system. 137 of the 172 Justice, Municipal and Superior courts representing the 15 Arizona counties are reported in this database. As defined by the Arizona Supreme Court, Justice and Municipal courts handle minor traffic violations and minor crimes. The Superior courts handle serious criminal cases. This information dates back at least seven years. Quarterly updates of the most current data available are provided
2a) Arizona Corrections: This database contains conviction information on individuals that are or have been under the jurisdiction of the Arizona Department of Corrections. The data is comprised of current and historical felony information dating back to 1985. The jurisdiction provides quarterly updates of the most current data available.
3) Arkansas Courts: This database contains current and historical felony and conviction and arrest information on individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the Arkansas Court system. Misdemeanor information is included if they are part of a felony case or when a misdemeanor case was appealed. This information dates back at least seven years. Quarterly updates of the most current data available are provided.
3a) Arkansas Corrections: This database contains current and historical conviction information on individuals that are or have been under the jurisdiction of the Arkansas Department of Corrections. The data dates back at least seven years. The jurisdiction provides quarterly updates of the most current data available.
4) Connecticut Traffic Court: This database contains current and historical felony, misdemeanor, infraction and violation records on individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the Connecticut Traffic Court system. Quarterly updates of the most current data available are provided. The data dates back at least seven years.
4a) Connecticut Courts: This database contains current and historical felony, misdemeanor, infraction and violation information on individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the Connecticut Court system. 4b)Connecticut Corrections: This database began its compilation of information when the Department of Corrections changed its reporting format in December of 2003. All information prior to December of 2003 is contained in the Archived Corrections database. This database contains current and historical felony and misdemeanor information on individuals that are or have been incarcerated under the jurisdiction of the Connecticut Department of Corrections. The jurisdiction provides quarterly updates of the most current data available. NOTE: per the jurisdiction: It is extremely important to note that a person's current incarceration does not necessarily indicate they have been convicted of a crime, as Connecticut's correctional system also holds those who are awaiting trial.
4c) Connecticut Archived Corrections: This database contains historical felony and misdemeanor information on individuals that have been incarcerated in a Connecticut Correctional institution, paroled or under Community supervision of the Connecticut Department of Corrections prior to December of 2003.
5) FLORIDA COURTS INFORMATION WAS REMOVED IN MARCH 2004 AT THE REQUEST OF THEFLORIDA OFFICE OF THE STATE COURT ADMINISTRATOR. THE ADMINISTRATOR IS NOTMAKING THEIR RECORDS AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC.
This database contained historical felony and misdemeanor information onindividuals who have been sentenced to serve time or community service or hadreceived suspended sentences or probation by the courts of the state of Floridafrom 1991 through 2002.
5a) Florida Alachua County: This database contains current and historical felony and misdemeanor information on individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the county court system of Alachua County, Florida. Alachua County covers 961 square miles and has a population of almost a quarter million people. The largest metropolitan area is Gainesville, home to the University of Florida Gators. Quarterly updates of the most current data available are provided. These records go back at least seven years.
5b)Florida Bay County: This database contains current and historical felony and misdemeanor conviction information on individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the county court system of Bay County, Florida. The county is home to Panama City and Tyndall Air Force Base and has a population close to 150,000. Quarterly updates of the most current data available are provided. These records go back at least seven years.
5c) Florida Broward County: This database contains current and historical felony, misdemeanor and probation information pertaining to cases filed with the Office of the Clerk of Courts for Broward County. Fort Lauderdale is the major city among the 29 cities and towns that house Broward County's 1.8 million people. The records date back to 2000 with some isolated records before that. 5d) Florida Charlotte County: This database contains current and historical arrest information provided by the Sheriff's office of Charlotte County, Florida. Charlotte County is located on the southwest coast of Florida and has a population of 160,000. Quarterly updates of the most current data available are provided. 5e) Florida Duval County: This database contains current and historical arrest and conviction records of felonies and misdemeanors of individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the county court system of Duval County, Florida. Home to Jacksonville, the largest city in the US at 841 square miles; Duval County has a population approaching 840,000. Quarterly updates of the most current data available are provided. These records go back at least seven years.
5f) Florida Hillsborough County: This database contains criminal case records of individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the circuit and county court system of Hillsborough County, Florida. Tampa is the major metropolitan center and houses the majority of Hillsborough County's 1.1 million people. The jurisdiction includes the following in its disclosure statement: "...provides an index of defendant names for Circuit Criminal cases and County Criminal cases (both active and disposed) which currently are stored in the Criminal Courts database. ...contains all Circuit Criminal and County Criminal cases filed after September 1987 or that have had any court action since September 1987..." 5h) Florida Indian River County: This database contains current and historical felony and misdemeanor information on individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the county court system of Indian River County, Florida. Indian River County covers 549 square miles and has a population of almost 125,000. Vero Beach and Sebastian are the principal cities in this Atlantic Ocean resort area of Florida. 5k) Florida Osceola County: This database contains current and historical information on individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the county court system of Osceola County, Florida. Osceola County is a 1,506 square mile area that serves as the south/central boundary of the Central Florida Region and the Greater Metropolitan Area of Orlando and has a population of 220,000. The City of Kissimmee, the County Seat, is 18 miles due south of Orlando. Home to the Kissimmee-St. Cloud tourist and convention bureau, the area houses over 6 million tourists annually. 5l) Florida Pasco County: This database contains current and historical conviction records of individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the county court system of Pasco County in Florida. Located on the Gulf of Mexico in the Tampa Bay area, Pasco County, with a population of over 390,000 people, contains several commuter communities that service the Tampa-St.Pete metropolitan area. 5m) Florida Palm Beach County: This database contains current and historical arrest records of individuals who are or have been arrested in Palm Beach County since 4-1-99. West Palm Beach is the major city among the 17 cities and towns that house Palm Beach County's 1.225 million people. Quarterly updates of the most current data available are provided.
6) Georgia Corrections: This database contains current and historical felony and misdemeanor information on individuals that are or have been under the jurisdiction of The Georgia Department of Corrections or The Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles. The data dates back at least seven years. While this database currently contains some misdemeanor information (on convicted felons only), the State of Georgia is in the process of purging misdemeanor data from their files. According to the State these records contain information pertaining to a maximum of ten offenses. The data from Fulton and DeKalb counties was not provided for approximately ten years beginning in December of 1974. This jurisdiction provides quarterly updates of the most current data available
6a) Georgia Bureau of Investigation: This database contains current and historical felony conviction information. This statewide database contains data on individuals convicted of felonies in Georgia for the last 3 decades. This jurisdiction provides semi-annual updates of the most current data available.
7) Idaho Corrections: This database contains current and historical felony, parole and probation information on individuals who are or have been under the supervision of the Idaho Department of Corrections. Additionally, there is some limited misdemeanor information. This jurisdiction provides semi-annual updates of the most current data available. The data goes back at least seven years.
8) Illinois Archived Corrections: This is a historical archived database containing information on individuals who were under the supervision of the Illinois Department of Corrections prior to 1994. The data is comprised of felony as well as limited misdemeanor information. For records post 1994 see database labeled Illinois Corrections.
8a) Illinois Corrections: This database contains current and historical information on individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the Illinois Department of Corrections. The data is comprised of felony as well as limited misdemeanor information dating back at least seven years. While offense history is provided, only the latest incarceration information is available. Parole information will only be returned on individuals currently on parole. The jurisdiction provides quarterly updates of the most current data available.
8b) Illinois Cook County: This database contains current and historical felony and misdemeanor conviction information for individuals that are or have been under the supervision of the Cook County Court system of the state of Illinois. Per the jurisdiction: "Neither the Clerk nor the Court warrants the accuracy, completeness, or the currency of this data. This data is not and may not be represented as an official record of the Court or of the Clerk. The official court record may be found in the hard copy files held and maintained by the Clerk." Cook County is home to over five million residents and 129 municipalities, including the 228 square miles of the city of Chicago with its population of 2,890,000. 8c) Illinois Peoria County: This database contains current and historical felony and misdemeanor conviction information for individuals that are or have been under the supervision of the Cook County Court system of the state of Illinois. Per the jurisdiction: "Neither the Clerk nor the Court warrants the accuracy,completeness, or the currency of this data. This data is not and may not berepresented as an official record of the Court or of the Clerk."
9) Indiana Corrections: This database contains current and historical felony and misdemeanor information for individuals that are or have been under the jurisdiction of the Indiana Department of Corrections. This jurisdiction provides quarterly updates of the most current data available. The data dates back at least seven years. This state provides only year and month of birth and is not included in any "National" Searches. In order to receive results from Indiana, an individual Statewide Database Search must be run with the search criteria set to "name match" with "no DOB" or "year"only.
10) Iowa Corrections: This database contains current and historical felony and misdemeanor conviction information on individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the Iowa Department of Corrections. 11) Kansas Corrections: This database contains current and historical felony and misdemeanor conviction information for individuals that are or have been under the jurisdiction of the Kansas Department of Corrections. Additionally, this database contains Community Corrections information on any offenders that have had Community Corrections supervision since 7-1-02. 12) Kentucky Corrections: This database contains current and historical felony information on individuals that are or have been under the jurisdiction of the Kentucky Department of Corrections. 12a) Kentucky Lexington-Fayette Community Corrections: This database contains current and historical arrest information on individuals that have been booked into the Lexington Fayette Division of Community Corrections in the State of Kentucky. Per this jurisdiction, "Lexington Fayette Urban County Division of Community Corrections does not guarantee the accuracy of the data on this site. 15) Michigan Corrections: This database contains statewide current and historical felony conviction and parole information on individuals that are or have been incarcerated under the supervision of the Michigan Department of Corrections. 15a) Michigan Wayne County: This database contains current and historical felony conviction information on individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the county court system of Wayne County, Michigan. These are felony cases only; however, some cases have misdemeanor offenses attached. Wayne County is made up of 33 cities, including the city of Detroit. Its population of approximately 2.1 million makes it the most populous county in the State of Michigan and the eighth most populous county in the Nation. 16) Minnesota Courts: This database contains current and historical felony and gross misdemeanor information on individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the court system of the State of Minnesota. Offense history before 1999 is limited to those offenders who received parole or probation.
22) New Hampshire Corrections: This database contains current information for individuals that are under the jurisdiction of the New Hampshire Department of Corrections. Historical information will be provided at a future date. Per the NH DOC: "This roster contains the names of New Hampshire state prison sentenced inmates only. It shows the inmate's current controlling sentence and does not show past or future consecutive sentences". The data is comprised of offenders that have been incarcerated by the NH DOC on the first of each month since 11-1-2004. 33a) Tennessee Supplemental Courts: This database contains current andhistorical felony and misdemeanor information on indicted offenders that isprovided by the Court System of Tennessee with the exception of General Session courts. 37) Wisconsin Corrections: This database contains historical felony conviction information on individuals that are or have been under the jurisdiction of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. This historical information covers all inmates under institutional supervision on January 1, 1990 through present. The jurisdiction provides semi-annual updates of the most current data available.
